John Michael Pelech was born in New York City, received a B.S. from N.Y.U. and a B.F.A. from School of Visual Arts in

Media Arts. He studied design with Milton Glaser and worked in commercial television and video as a Director of Photography and

MTV cameraman during the start-up years 1981-1984. He worked with avant garde artists: Nam June Paik, Peter Gabriel and Laurie 

Anderson and Lighting Director on Zbigniew Rybczyński’s magnum opus “Steps”. Received a Monitor Award for lighting design.

He lives in the East Village of NYC and is currently developing his fine art photography practice.
