Robert Johnson received his MFA in Theater from UC San Diego. He had a 12-year New York City career as a director, producer, and stage manager. He dedicated himself full-time to photography in 2008. His work has been shown in galleries throughout the US and in Europe. He divides his time between New York City and Wellfleet. He has a one-man show, Pleasant Point-Pain(e Hollow in December at Wellfleet MA Preservation Hall. He teaches Photojournalism as Art at The New York Times Summer Academy and is a member of the Soho Photo Gallery in New York City. He is a speaker advocate for Transgender youth with PFLAG in the NYC Public Schools. He is a regular photo contributor to The Provincetown Independent. His radio shows Blackfish Creak and Nighthawk Radio can be heard on WOMR.
