Sylvie Redmond is a conceptual photographer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  A mother of three, Redmond creates deeply personal work that explores themes of family, motherhood, time, and memory.  Using elements of vernacular and documentary photography, Redmond creates open ended narratives that convey the complexities of family relationships.  She also explores these concepts more abstractly through conceptual darkroom work, creating photograms that transform natural materials into a physical manifestation of home.

Redmond began her career in education, and holds an MA in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Wisconsin Madison (2010), and a BA in Human Development and Environmental Studies from Colby College (2003).  She is currently completing a Certificate in Photography from the International Center of Photography in New York City.

I primarily use a Leica M10 monochrome with a 35mm summicron.
