D.Dangott is an emerging American photographic artist. She has exhibited her work extensively over the past two years across the US. Her imaginative and haunting works explore many different themes. Regardless of the subject matter or theme, her work often blurs the line between fact and fiction. Dangott also strives to weave together elements of our tangible external physical environment with our less tangible but equally as relevant internal psychological realm. She received her BFA in Photography from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN in 1988. Her works are in many private, public and corporate collections.
Dangott has used a wide range of photographic equipment over the years including Nikon 35mm cameras and lenses, medium format film cameras, plastic toy cameras and most recently iPhone cameras. This self-portrait image was captured with an iPhone 11 ProMax camera and then merged digitally with a separate image in the digital darkroom.
