Nancy Oliveri is a New York City based American artist. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1958 and attended Hartford Art School in the early 80’s. Her photography has been included in solo and group exhibitions in the US and internationally including Mexico City, Berlin, Budapest, Rome, Barcelona and Venice. Her 7 self -published photography books (olive&root) and projects have been acknowledged with multiple awards in the Tokyo International Foto Awards, The Prix de la Photographie Paris PX3, The Julia Margaret Cameron Awards and The Pollux Awards among others. She has been featured in Musee Magazine, White Hot Magazine for Contemporary Art, L’Oeil, The Eye of Photography Magazine, Float Magazine, Arcade Project and The South x Southeast Photography Magazine among others. Ms. Oliveri’s work is currently on view in the New York Responds Exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York and recently in the Women Street Photographers Exhibition at El Barrio Art Space in NYC and on Instagram @Nancy-Oliveri-Photography. I use different cameras for different subjects but I only use a 35mm Nikon digital camera with a 200mm lens for street photography. My preference is to use dye sublimation printing on aluminum because it is durable, easily recycled, easy to hang with back float mount and it makes a stunning and contemporary presentation.
